How to manage the students of Nursery, LKG & UKG who become sad on being sent to school during initial days ?


INITIAL DAYS OF FIRST TIME SCHOOL COMING KIDS OF NUR, LKG & UKG.
MANAGING EMOTIONAL REACTIONS OF KIDS STEPPING IN SCHOOL FOR THE FIRST TIME
1.    All parents to be requested to stay for 2 hours for one week.
2.    25% of students newly stepping into the school may cry for mothers or for going home.
3.    Rest 75% students should be engaged in the following ways with the Crying Students.
STUDENTS WHO CRY
STUDENTS WHO DO NOT CRY
Mothers will acclimatize the child in the school by making playing with the child in the park.
Mothers may sit for two hours in case the child feels lost out of home members (rarely may happen)
CLASSIFY THE KIDS WHO CRY AND WHO DON’T CRY
Crying students shouldn’t be instructed to keep quiet forcibly or by affection by anyone who is not MOTHER – It’s waste of time and effort (proven by educationists)
Stable students should get to play in ROCKERS, SLIDERS, SWINGS, BALL POOLS, and ARCH HORSES, ROCKERS

ARRIVAL INTO THE SCHOOL – BAGLESS FOR FIRST TWO WEEKS
Offer welcome drink to mother and chocolate to the kid

TAKING THE CHARGE OF THE KID FROM MOTHER TO THE TEACHER INVOLVES A PROCESS AS BELOW

(i)          Mothers and teachers play along with kids.
(ii)         Teachers help the kids to perform activity more than mothers.
(iii)        Mothers clap and appreciate the activities.
(iv)        Initial Day’s photograph should be clicked and sent to parents for their happiness.
(v)         Then mother tries to disappear and allow the child to feel safe with teachers.

CLASS ROOM / ACTIVITY ROOM BASED PRACTICES FOR INITIAL DAYS




30 MINUTES
(I)            Circle time games without books or bags for first week
(II)          Mother and kid sits side by side forming circle and teacher sits in between
(III)         Teacher passes the ball to the mother and mothers passes the ball to teacher
(IV)         Periodically teacher gives toffees to the mother and requests all to clap and laughs
(V)          The kid who feels greedy to take part in the game are made active
(VI)         In 3rd round kids generally take over the game and plays with the kids.
(VII)        Then mothers slowly slowly move back words and forms two circles
(VIII)      Inner circle formed by kids
(IX)         Outer circle formed by mothers
(X)           When kids are sinked into the fun of game, mother mover away farther
(XI)         Teacher in this ways takes over the charge of the kids.

DAY 2 : CARTOON SHOW IN MOTHER TONGUE LANGUAGE – HINDI FOR 15 MINUTES
DAY 3 : CARTOON SHOW IN MOTHER TONGUE LANGUAGE – HINDI FOR 15 MINUTES
DAY 4 : NURSERY RHYMES – LISTENING ONLY , NO RECITING
DAY 5 : NURSERY RHYMES – LISTENING ONLY,  FOLLOWED BY DEMO RECITING BY TEACHERS.
DAY 6 : NURSERY RHYMES – LISTENING ONLY, FOLLOWED BY DEMO RECITING BY TEACHERS.

POTLUCK TIME WITH ALL MOTHERS AND KIDS IN CIRCLE
15 MINUTES
STORY TIME (engage parents in story telling) : parents need to feel more happy than kids initially
15 MINUTES
SONG TIME (engage parents in singing) : parents need to experience the value for fee paid more than kids initially
